Dear YAV Choristers and Families,

The Adelaide Symphony Orchestra are excited to share with the YAV community the below offer for all of their FOFO (Festival of Orchestra) in November.  Some choirs are involved with Carmina Burana, but everyone is welcome to book tickets for any of the shows below.  all shows

Best wishes,

To help your friends and family see you in action on the FOFO stage, we’re pleased to share a discount code for 15% off selected reserves at every FOFO show. You are welcome to use the discount for any (and all) of the performances, even if you’re not performing that night. It can be for you to catch another performance, or for your friends and family to watch you the night(s) you are on.

All you need to do is add the promo code FOFOArtist (no spaces) when booking via the ASO website (after selecting a performance but before selecting tickets). You can also book in over the phone or in person at Grainger Studio, Monday to Friday, 9am to 4.30pm. Please note tickets are available in A, B and C Reserves only, are subject to availability, and transaction fees do apply. Some performances are already selling out in some reserves, so we urge you to book soon.

Whereas you are welcome to share the promo code with your friends and family so they can book direct, we just ask that you don’t publically post about the promo code on social media – please circulate discreetly.

Message from Tracy

Dear YAV staff, families & choristers

Thank you very much to everyone for the gifts, messages and best wishes, it has been very humbling and much appreciated.

I look forward to following your adventures and enjoying many YAV concerts and events in the future.

Good luck and thank you again, it’s been a wonderful 10 years with YAV.

Choir Administrator position

Dear YAV families

As you may have heard, Tracy Shepherd is leaving YAV after 10 years of incredible work in the organisation.

Tracy has been instrumental in improving, creating and updating all our systems.  She designed the new website and designed all the systems for both WATU Youth Choir Festivals, in 2015 and 2018 and has coordinated all our Covid plans and has made sure YAV has been compliant throughout the pandemic, an enormous task, given the concerns around singing.

She has very much been the beating heart of this organisation from behind the scenes, and will be terribly missed.

YAV is looking for a part-time Administrator to replace Tracy, and choir community is an ideal place for us to look – we welcome another like-minded person into our team.  The application can be investigated through Youth Choir Administrator Job in Adelaide – SEEK and applications close on Monday 13 September 2021.

Tracy will be with us until Thursday 16 September before she goes to her new job.  We want to thank her so much for the wonderful work she has done at YAV and wish her the very best in her new role.

Best wishes,

Christie & the YAV Staff

Community-minded in nature, Young Adelaide Voices welcomes candidates who are excited to work with the choir and its Artistic Director to foster growth and development of young people in youth music and singing.  To this end experience in music performance and/or event planning and a demonstrated ability to build effective relationships and partnerships with schools would be an advantage.

Applicants can apply to:

Application due date: COB Friday 10 September 2021

Full job description:

Rehearsals return to YAV this week

Dear MVG

We are delighted to welcome our choristers back to rehearsals from this Thursday.

Rehearsals will run for the usual times and include musicianship.

Everyone over the age of 12 will be required to wear a mask while in the building under the current restrictions in SA (unless an exemption has been granted, if you wear a mask at school/Uni you should do so at choir).

Please remember the basics:

  • don’t come to choir if sick or if you are awaiting a covid test result
  • social distancing and hand sanitizing
  • covid check in required by all entering the building unless a chorister as the roll will be taken

Any questions please let me know:

We look forward to welcoming you back to YAV!
