Sjaella Workshop – AMAZING opportunity!

Hi Team MVG,

Aurora/YAV has the absolute pleasure to host, in conjunction with UKARIA, the female vocal sextet Sjaella from Germany and we invite you to join us for an amazing singing opportunity.

They are doing “Sessions with Sjaella” 2 connected workshops on voice production, ensemble, mindfulness in singing, and understanding text flow within music. Sjaella have been singing together since they were 13 years old (then called The Chickpeas!) and so they understand where young voices begin and how love of singing can go throughout our lives. Sjaella are one of my most favourite chamber ensembles (I even subscribe to them on Youtube) and you as choristers would get so much out of their work!

It’s a great holiday experience, one you will not forget.

Tickets for students are only $40 for 10am – 2:30pm at BCUC (BYO lunch).

We hope you book in and we can see you there!

MVG – Final week of Semester 1

Hi MVG,

Congratulations on a successful performance yesterday at our Winter Mosaic Concert. I received a lot of positive feedback from our audience and I hope you are proud of your efforts throughout the day.

Please note that there is a rehearsal this coming Thursday (which happens to be our final one of the term). Note that there is a slight change in starting and finishing times for this week.

6:30-7:15pm Pizza + Debrief (If you haven’t completed the survey monkey for pizza selection, please do so as soon as possible)

7:15-8:15pm A workshop with Dr Heather Buchanan.

Please find the bio of Heather below. We have been fortunate enough to be granted this opportunity to work with her on our existing rep, plus some warmups and technical drills. This should be an insightful and encouraging way to finish our semester off.

Please make sure you bring all of your music, as it will need to be returned.

Thanks 🙂

Aidan and Nikolai.
